Department of the Interior and Local Government said the Unified 911 Emergency Hotline continues to serve as a critical link between Filipinos and emergency medical responders, helping provide faster access to urgent health care assistance through a single nationwide hotline.
The DILG said the 911 service operates круглосуточно and is supported by a nationwide network of emergency response units tasked to assist callers facing medical and health-related emergencies.
According to the agency, the hotline supports the directive of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to make emergency and healthcare services more accessible and responsive to Filipinos regardless of location or social status.
Under Executive Order No. 56, series of 2018, the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, local government units, accredited non-government organizations, and private sector partners are mandated to coordinate in responding to emergency calls requiring immediate assistance.
To improve emergency response capabilities, the DILG said regional 911 command centers are also equipped to receive calls in local and regional dialects, allowing callers to communicate more effectively during critical situations.
The agency cited recent incidents where the hotline helped responders deliver immediate assistance.
In Bataan, a 70-year-old woman suffering from a head concussion was brought to the nearest hospital after a resident called the 911 hotline. Responders from the Abucay Rescue team immediately assisted the patient.
In Sultan Kudarat, authorities responded to a vehicular accident involving a mixer truck that crashed into a residential area after a concerned citizen sought help through the emergency hotline. Two injured victims were rushed to the hospital, while police recorded one fatality in the incident.
The DILG said the Unified 911 Emergency Hotline will continue strengthening its capability to respond quickly and reliably to health and medical emergencies as part of broader government efforts to improve public service delivery and protect lives.
