Quezon City Police District arrested three drug suspects and seized more than P141,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate buy-bust operations conducted in Quezon City on May 12.

In a statement, the QCPD said the operations formed part of its intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign under Acting District Director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio.

The first operation was conducted by the Holy Spirit Police Station at around 11:35 p.m. along Luzon Avenue corner Congressional Avenue in Barangay Culiat.

Authorities arrested an 18-year-old suspect identified only as alias “Jerryvic” after an undercover police officer allegedly purchased P200 worth of marijuana from him.

Police said the operation stemmed from information provided by a concerned citizen regarding the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.

Recovered from the suspect were 2.77 grams of dried marijuana leaves valued at P4,155, three vials of liquid marijuana weighing 55.18 grams worth P82,770, and the marked money used in the operation.

In a separate buy-bust operation at around 8:30 p.m., operatives from the Novaliches Police Station arrested two suspects identified as alias “Michael,” 52, and alias “Jerald,” 33, inside Michael’s residence in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon.

Police confiscated around eight grams of suspected shabu valued at P54,400, along with a blue metal case and buy-bust money.

Authorities said records showed both suspects had previous drug-related cases.

Michael was previously charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, in April 2024.

Jerald, meanwhile, had prior cases for violations of RA 9165 in April 2024, as well as cases involving illegal gambling and drug offenses in November 2022.

The suspects are set to face charges for violation of RA 9165 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

Silvio commended the police operatives involved in the operations and reiterated the district’s commitment to sustaining anti-drug operations across the city.

“The public can expect that the QCPD will continue its strict campaign against illegal drugs. Let us work together, QCitizens and QCPD, against crime to ensure a safe and orderly Quezon City,” Silvio said.
