The Philippine Navy and Denmark reaffirmed their growing maritime and defense cooperation during the courtesy visit of Denmark’s newly appointed non-resident attaché to the Philippines, Colonel Anders Jon Christensen, at Navy headquarters in Manila.
Christensen was welcomed by Philippine Navy Flag Officer in Command Vice Admiral Jose Ma Ambrosio Ezpeleta, who emphasized the expanding partnership between the Philippines and Denmark in areas involving maritime security and regional stability.
Ezpeleta thanked Denmark for its continued cooperation and commitment to the international rules-based order.
“We have a lot of collaboration with the Danish government. We are very fortunate to have you as our friend, and for standing with us for the international rules-based order,” Ezpeleta said.
Christensen, who recently joined the International Observers’ Program of Exercise Balikatan 41-2026, also expressed appreciation for the Philippine Navy’s efforts to protect the country’s sovereignty.
“You’re fighting for all of us. It should be us thanking you for doing that fight every day,” Christensen said.
The meeting underscored both countries’ intention to deepen naval cooperation and sustain dialogue on areas of mutual security interest, including maritime cooperation, modernization, and regional stability.
