At the Collectors’ Conference last April, Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, lauded the Port of Batangas for generating approximately ₱22.21 billion in collections in March 2026, and for having collected approximately ₱59.14 billion for the first quarter of 2026
Under the leadership of its District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, the BOC said the Port of Batangas showed outstanding performance and sustained accomplishments in revenue collection, trade facilitation, and border protection.
Commissioner Nepomuceno lauded the Port’s proactive and data-driven approaches, particularly its early coordination with shipping lines and importers, strict monitoring of valuation systems, and implementation of policies which have significantly improved revenue collection and minimized leakage.
The Port’s intensified coordination with partner agencies has also reinforced border security efforts against smuggling and other illicit activities, as well as its adherence to international standards through the maintenance of its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification.
Nepomuceno also recognized the initiatives of the Port of Batangas in terms of personnel development and welfare, including capacity-building programs, integrity and accountability trainings, and employee engagement activities.
“The Port of Batangas stands as a model of excellence in customs administration. Its innovative strategies, strong partnerships, and commitment to integrity demonstrate how operational efficiency can translate into meaningful results for the Bureau and the country. I likewise extend my appreciation to the men and women of the Port of Batangas, whose dedication, professionalism, and tireless service continue to drive the Port’s success,” Commissioner Nepomuceno said.
