The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) intensified nationwide operations in April, resulting in 1,124 arrests, the seizure of loose firearms and explosives, and the recovery of more than P1.6 billion worth of evidence linked to various illegal activities.

CIDG Director PMGen. Robert A.A. Morico II said the operations, conducted from April 1 to 30, 2026, also led to the filing of 143 criminal complaints before the National Prosecution Service.

A total of 943 operations were carried out nationwide during the period.

Under OPLAN PAGTUGIS and SALIKOP, authorities targeted wanted persons, fugitives, and members of criminal and insurgent groups. A total of 622 individuals were accounted for, including two national most wanted persons with rewards, 105 regional most wanted, 125 provincial most wanted, and 96 city or municipal-level fugitives. Two alleged leaders and four members of communist terrorist groups were also arrested.

Meanwhile, OPLAN PAGLALANSAG OMEGA operations against loose firearms resulted in the confiscation of 155 firearms, including 14 light weapons and 141 small arms, along with 38 explosives seized through search warrants and buy-bust operations.

The CIDG also reported gains under OPLAN OLEA, which focused on illegal trade and regulatory violations. Authorities seized goods and evidence valued at P1,680,010,402.92, including counterfeit products, illegal imports, and regulated items such as cigarettes, vape products, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, and petroleum products. Operations also covered environmental violations, illegal gambling, logging, and mining.

CIDG officials said the operations helped reduce threats to public safety and prevent potential criminal activity.

Morico commended personnel for their sustained efforts, saying the results reflect a stronger and more coordinated campaign against criminality.

“Our focus goes beyond making arrests. We are committed to thorough investigations to ensure airtight cases that lead to conviction and justice for victims,” Morico said.

He added that CIDG will continue to intensify operations nationwide, underscoring its commitment to enforce the law without fear or favor.
