Police have identified and located the victim of a robbery on a Quezon Avenue footbridge that recently went viral on social media, as authorities intensify efforts to track down the suspect.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the victim surfaced after operatives from Kamuning Police Station 10 initiated verification following the circulation of the incident online. She later appeared at the station to give a full account.
The robbery occurred at around 10:00 p.m. on April 24 along a footbridge at the intersection of EDSA and Quezon Avenue in Barangay Pinyahan. The victim said she was on her way to work when a man approached her, threatened her with a pointed object, and declared a hold-up.
The suspect took her wallet containing about P18,000 in cash and several identification cards before fleeing westbound along EDSA.
Police said the victim was initially unable to report the incident due to work constraints. She instead sought help from a barangay in Caloocan and later shared the incident online to warn others and prevent possible misuse of her IDs.
Authorities have since launched follow-up operations, including CCTV backtracking and suspect identification, to locate and arrest the perpetrator and recover the stolen items.
The QCPD also urged the public to report crimes promptly through police stations or hotlines such as E911 and QC Helpline 122, emphasizing that timely and accurate information allows faster response.
