The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has officially opened public voting for its newly introduced “Most Anticipated Movie Award,” giving festivalgoers direct influence over the awards ahead of its 2026 holiday run.
The fan-voted honor was unveiled alongside the festival’s complete eight-film roster following the announcement of its final four official entries on October 12: Los Salvajes Bravos, Little Hope, Seeds of Peace: The Life of Father Rhoel D. Gallardo, CMF and A Perfect Marriage. They join the initial four selections revealed in July, Amir, 2nd Miracle in Cell Number 7, Haunted Carnival and The Greatest Showdown.
Unlike traditional festival awards determined by a panel of judges, the Most Anticipated Movie award will be decided entirely by public vote.
“We keep coming back because Filipinos deserve a Christmas worth lining up for,” said Adela Mae Marshall, spokesperson for PlayTime Entertainment, the festival’s returning entertainment partner behind the initiative. “Moviegoers have always carried this festival. This year, we’re asking them to tell us which film they can’t wait to see.”
Voting started on October 12 at 7:00 PM and will run through December 24 at 7:00 PM. Members of the public can participate by visiting PlayTime.ph, selecting their choice of movie and submitting their entry after completing a brief CAPTCHA verification. Multiple votes are permitted through refreshing the page, with organizers encouraging fans to share their picks across social media platforms to mobilize support.
