San Miguel Corp. is committed to completing the passenger terminal building at Godofredo P. Ramos Airport in Caticlan by the second quarter of 2027, according to Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez.
“Last year, we started the construction, and SMC committed to finish it by the second quarter of next year,” Lopez said during the EJAP Infrastructure Forum 2026.
The new terminal, which will cover approximately 36,000 square meters, will feature modern amenities designed to improve passenger comfort and convenience. It is designed to accommodate up to seven million passengers annually.
San Miguel, through Trans Aire Development Holdings Corp. (TADHC), is undertaking the expansion of Boracay Airport under a 25-year build-rehabilitate-operate-transfer concession granted by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
Under a concession agreement with the DOTr and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), TADHC holds the exclusive rights and assumes the obligations and privileges to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the airport.
Aside from Boracay Airport, San Miguel’s infrastructure arm also holds airport operations and maintenance contracts for the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and the planned Bulacan Airport.
San Miguel also operates several major expressways, including the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway, South Luzon Expressway, Skyway Stage 3 and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway. It is also involved in the proposed Metro Rail Transit Line 7.
