The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh and the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah urged Filipino nationals across Saudi Arabia to exercise heightened vigilance following a reported Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport that allegedly killed 12 people and injured 309 others.
According to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), those killed in the incident included four Saudi nationals alongside citizens from Bangladesh, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan.
Multiple injured victims remain under medical observation, including two Filipinos currently receiving care in the intensive care unit of a Riyadh hospital, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said.
Cacdac noted that the two hospitalized Filipinos are currently recovering.
The Philippine Embassy advised the Filipino community to stay calm and alert, observe official guidance issued by Saudi authorities, and verify commercial flight statuses prior to traveling.
Diplomatic posts also warned Filipinos against handling or approaching suspicious objects and cautioned against sharing unverified information.
The Philippine government continues to monitor security developments in Saudi Arabia, according to the official advisory.
