MPCALA Holdings, Inc. is closing in on the full completion of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), with active construction underway on the final 18.5-kilometer segment of the 45-kilometer tollway connecting key growth corridors in Cavite and Laguna.
The concessionaire stated that current civil works are centered on Subsections 1 and 2, focusing on mainline road paving, bridge superstructures, drainage systems, interchange ramps, and essential tollway facilities.
Once operational, the continuous four-lane expressway will extend from its temporary terminus at Governors Drive in General Trias, Cavite, passing through Open Canal toward Kawit. This final link completes the full CALAX alignment and merges directly into the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) via the CAVITEX-CALAX Link (CCLink).
CALAX currently operates along a continuous stretch from Mamplasan in Biñan, Laguna, up to Governors Drive in General Trias.
The upcoming completion of Subsections 1 and 2 will provide motorists with a high-speed bypass route across southern Luzon, bypassing heavily congested arterial roads and significantly cutting travel times between Metro Manila, Cavite, and Laguna.
MPCALA emphasized that the seamless link will optimize logistics and supply chain efficiency by directly connecting economic zones, industrial parks, agricultural distribution hubs, and major commercial markets across the Greater Manila Area.
The P35.7-billion infrastructure undertaking is executed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework, with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as the implementing government agency and MPCALA Holdings, Inc., a unit of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), as the private concessionaire.
