Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila announced the resumption of normal campus operations and classes on Thursday, Sept. 24, after law enforcement authorities declared the university premises safe following a late-night bomb threat on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
The university suspended classes as a safety measure after receiving information regarding the threat. In an official advisory published at 8:20 p.m., the school instructed the campus community to quickly and orderly evacuate the grounds.
“Students, faculty, employees, and support staff are advised to evacuate the campus calmly and in an orderly manner and follow the instructions of security personnel,” FEU stated.
Following the announcement, the FEU Safety and Security Office coordinated with law enforcement agencies to carry out standard sweep and verification protocols.
By 10:25 p.m., personnel from the Philippine National Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit finished inspecting the grounds, finding no explosive devices or immediate security threats. The campus was officially declared cleared and ready for normal activities.
School administration confirmed that regular academic schedules would resume on Thursday, Sept. 24, while security teams continue to investigate the incident.
The university noted that it will remain in active contact with police units to identify who was responsible for sending the threat, adding that “further updates will be issued through official FEU channels.”
