PlayTime Entertainment has officially expanded its footprint into collegiate sports after securing the role of official entertainment partner and season presenter for Season 102 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association of the Philippines (NCAA).
The multi-sport league officially launched its new season at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena on Sunday, September 13, with San Beda University serving as this year’s host institution.
PlayTime Entertainment President Roy Alcid highlighted that the alliance underscores the firm’s support for youth empowerment and development across various disciplines.
“It’s a milestone for PlayTime as we enter a new space in sports and expand beyond entertainment. It allows us to live out our purpose: Born for Happiness — bringing joy, connection and shared experiences to a passionate community,” Alcid said.
Alcid emphasized that cross-industry partnerships allow PlayTime to “grow beyond entertainment and into meaningful cultural spaces,” granting the company direct engagement with student bodies, alumni networks and sports enthusiasts.
He added that the organization aims to use its platform to amplify the personal narratives and journeys of student-athletes alongside their on-court performance metrics. Expressing optimism for the upcoming tournament calendar, Alcid noted his enthusiasm for watching young competitors inspire their communities and fanbases.
PlayTime Entertainment spokesperson Adela Marshall also underscored the value of the partnership in promoting shared community experiences through collegiate sports.
“In this season of NCAA, we hope to bring not just brand presence but a sense of sportsmanship and worthwhile experiences,” Marshall said.
“We look forward to being part of the excitement, the competition, and the stories that will unfold throughout the season,” she added.
Following Sunday’s opening ceremony and inaugural games, regular tournament fixtures are scheduled to run weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
The initiative aligns with PlayTime Entertainment’s broader operational scope in the domestic market, which spans talent management, sports media integration and interactive platform engineering.
