President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. mourned the passing of his Aide-de-Camp, Major Ma. Joshua Santiago, honoring him as a brave and dependable military officer.
The Chief Executive visited Santiago’s wake on Thursday at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City to pay his final respects.
In a tribute posted on Facebook on Friday, Marcos expressed deep appreciation for Santiago’s service, dedication and character throughout his military tenure.
“In the time he stood by my side as my Aide-de-Camp, I came to know a soldier of courage, an officer I could depend on and, above all, a good man,” Marcos said. “Our prayers are with his family and fellow soldiers.”
The President added that serving alongside Santiago was a distinct privilege, offering his prayers and heartfelt condolences to the late officer’s family and colleagues in the armed forces.
Santiago was a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 2009.
