PAL to Launch Daily Manila-Melbourne Flights in November

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to expand its Australia operations by increasing its Manila–Melbourne services to daily flights starting November 19, 2026, boosting frequency ahead of the peak year-end holiday travel season.

The flag carrier currently operates five weekly flights between the two cities. The shift to daily operations will offer travelers from the Philippines and PAL’s international network seamless access to Victoria’s capital.

In turn, Australia-based passengers can connect through PAL’s Manila hub to regional destinations across the Philippines, as well as major cities throughout Asia, North America, and the Middle East.

Beyond passenger traffic, the daily frequency will expand PAL’s cargo belly capacity between the two nations. The added freight volume is expected to support Philippine exports while strengthening trade and commercial links between the Philippines and Australia.

The expansion coincides with a major anniversary for the airline. On September 10, 2026, PAL marks 55 years of service to Melbourne, having first introduced the route in 1971. The city remains one of the carrier’s longest-serving international destinations.

PAL maintains the largest operational footprint of any airline linking the Philippines and Australia. Its current Australian network includes daily flights to Sydney and Brisbane, alongside three weekly flights to Perth.

From its main hubs in Manila and Cebu, the airline operates scheduled nonstop services to 29 domestic destinations and 40 international destinations across Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East.
