Blooms are counting down to another major moment for BINI as the group heads to Japan for its Summer Sonic 2026 debut.
BINI left Manila on August 12 ahead of performances at two of the festival’s biggest stops. Aiah, Mikha, Sheena, Maloi, Stacey, Jhoanna, Colet, and Gwen are set to perform on the Mountain Stage at Osaka’s Expo ’70 Commemorative Park on August 14 before heading to Tokyo for another Mountain Stage appearance on August 16 at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe.
The appearance places BINI on the lineup of one of Japan’s biggest music festivals as Summer Sonic marks its 25th anniversary with an expanded three-day run. This year’s roster includes international acts such as The Strokes, L’Arc-en-Ciel, Ado, David Byrne, FKA twigs, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
BINI will also be joined by fellow Filipino acts at the festival. SB19 is scheduled to perform in Osaka on August 14 and Tokyo on August 15, marking a rare appearance by two of the Philippines’ biggest P-pop groups at the same major international festival. Filipino-Japanese singer-songwriter Ena Mori is also part of the lineup, giving the Philippines a strong presence at this year’s event.
The Summer Sonic performances come in the middle of BINI’s “Signals” world tour. The group recently performed in San Diego and is scheduled to head to Vancouver shortly after its Tokyo set, adding another international stop to an already packed tour schedule.
BINI and SB19 also recently appeared together in content teasing their respective songs “Lawless” and “Step Back,” drawing attention from both fandoms ahead of their Japan performances.
The Japan appearance adds to what has already been a milestone-filled year for BINI. Earlier in 2026, the group became the first all-Filipino girl group to perform at Coachella. They also appeared at the GRAMMY Museum and received the Global Force Award at Billboard Women in Music.
Their Coachella appearance was later recognized by the Philippine Senate through a resolution acknowledging the group’s achievement and growing international presence.
For Blooms, Summer Sonic is another sign of how far BINI has come since its early years. Fans have been sharing countdowns, performance schedules, interview clips, and messages of support online as the group prepares to face festival crowds in Osaka and Tokyo.
BINI now enters Summer Sonic with several major international appearances behind them and another opportunity to bring P-pop to a wider audience. The next test comes on the Mountain Stage, where the group will perform in front of one of Japan’s largest music festival crowds.
