Dustin Yu and Bianca de Vera Lead New Film ‘Ba’t Di Na Lang Tayo’ After PBB Success

The screaming started before Dustin Yu and Bianca de Vera even took the stage.

At the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City last Saturday, a sold-out crowd turned out for “DustBia: Love Actually,” the fans day for the popular love team. The packed venue reflected just how much support the pair has built since their time on Pinoy Big Brother.

After leaving the PBB house, DustBia went on to appear in several ABS-CBN and GMA projects, including their 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “Love You So Bad,” released by Regal Films and directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar.

Now, Dustin and Bianca are heading back to the big screen with a project of their own.

Their upcoming film, “Ba’t Di Na Lang Tayo,” follows two young people dealing with the challenges of adulting while finding themselves drawn to each other. As responsibilities and unexpected problems come into their lives, they must figure out whether their relationship can survive the changes around them.

For Bianca, acting is not new territory. Born Bianca Franchesca Batu Dimapilis on February 7, 2002, in Antipolo, Rizal, she previously appeared in the Kapamilya series “2 Good 2 Be True” and GMA’s “Unbreak My Heart.”

Dustin also had acting credits before PBB, including appearances in “Regal Studio Presents,” “Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune,” “Black Rider,” and “Pulang Araw.”

PBB, however, gave audiences a chance to see them together, and their chemistry quickly attracted attention.

Bianca joined the Celebrity Collab Edition, which brought together Kapamilya and Kapuso personalities inside the house. Their growing connection became one of the pairings that audiences continued to follow even after the show ended.

But the popularity also brought pressure.

“Minsan, I couldn’t help but feel that need to please them, make them happy,” Dustin said. “But at the end of the day, I just hope they allow enough room to grow.”

Bianca sees pressure differently.

“I think pressure is a good thing because that just means patuloy yung hunger namin,” she said. “When the day comes na hindi na’ko gutom, I feel that would be such a great disappointment to me, the younger version of myself who was once so hungry.”

For director Jason Paul Laxamana, their popularity is not the main reason he took on the project. Known for films such as “100 Tula Para Kay Stella,” “Between Maybes,” and “Expensive Candy,” Laxamana said their acting ability was what caught his attention.

“Yung skill nila talaga, yun ang mahalaga. Na-obserbahan ko na sila dati pa, at yun ang dahilan kung bakit excited ako makatrabaho sila,” he said.

“Ba’t Di Na Lang Tayo” is scheduled for release this September.

For DustBia, the film represents another step after PBB, and perhaps their biggest test yet. They have already built a loyal following. Now they have the chance to prove they can bring that audience, and possibly a much wider one, to theaters.
