The Philippine National Police has arrested an alleged member of a dismantled New People’s Army guerrilla front who is wanted for murder and attempted murder in Negros Oriental.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Arnulfo,” was apprehended during an operation in Barangay San Jose, Santa Catalina, on July 11.
Police described him as a non-PSR-listed member of the South East Front, dismantled under the Komiteng Rehiyon-Negros. He is also ranked as the No. 5 provincial-level most wanted person of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office for the third quarter of 2026.
Personnel of the 6th Special Action Battalion of the PNP Special Action Force provided tactical support to the Santa Catalina Municipal Police Station, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, and other police units during the operation.
The suspect was arrested on warrants for murder and attempted murder issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 of the 7th Judicial Region in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.
Following his arrest, he was turned over to the Santa Catalina Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
