TESDA Chief Pushes Closer Collaboration on Higher Education Reforms

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Secretary Kiko Benitez joined education leaders in a high-level dialogue on turning national education reforms into institutional transformation during the 2026 Annual Convention and General Assembly of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges.

Benitez served as a panelist in the discussion titled “Navigating the Role of SUCs: Translating National Education Reforms into Institutional Transformation.”

He was joined by Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara, EDCOM 2 Executive Director Dr. Karol Mark Yee, and EDCOM 2 Advisory Council Member Dr. Cynthia Rose Bautista.

The panel examined how national education reforms can be effectively carried out across State Universities and Colleges to strengthen institutions and improve learning outcomes.

The speakers also stressed the importance of stronger collaboration among education stakeholders in developing more responsive and future-ready institutions while expanding education and employment opportunities for Filipino students.
