The Department of Migrant Workers will open a new office in Phnom Penh on July 14 to provide Filipino workers in Cambodia with easier access to labor assistance, welfare services and emergency support.
The Migrant Workers Office in Phnom Penh will be the DMW’s 43rd overseas post.
The department said the office will serve as a “Tahanan ng OFW” and act as a direct link between the Philippine government and the Filipino community in Cambodia.
It will assist workers with labor concerns, welfare needs and protection services, while supporting government efforts against illegal recruitment and human trafficking.
The office was established following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to bring government services closer to overseas Filipino workers.
The DMW is also scheduled to open another Migrant Workers Office in Guam in August, further expanding its global network.
