The Philippine Military Academy has installed Col. Kim Eric Alexander D. Agatep of the Philippine Air Force as acting assistant superintendent.

Agatep formally assumed the post during a change of chief of office ceremony at Fort General Gregorio H. del Pilar in Baguio City on Friday, July 10, 2026.

He will serve as acting assistant superintendent in concurrent capacity as PMA chief of academy staff. He replaced Brig. Gen. Onorlie B. Brillantes, who is set to assume a new post as internal auditor of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

In his farewell message, Brillantes thanked the academy for the opportunity to serve, describing his assignment at PMA as both an honor and a privilege.

He said being part of the institution responsible for molding future AFP leaders was among the most meaningful chapters of his military career.

Speaking on behalf of the Office of the Assistant Superintendent, Agatep vowed to help advance the academy’s mission.

“We will strive for mission accomplishment and operational readiness, prioritize the well-being of our personnel, faculty, and more importantly, the future officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism,” Agatep said.

The Office of the Assistant Superintendent assists the PMA superintendent in supervising and coordinating the implementation of the academy’s institutional policies, plans, and programs.

It also plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and supporting PMA’s mandate to develop leaders of character for the AFP.

Brillantes, a member of PMA “Bantay Laya” Class of 1994, leaves the academy after what PMA described as a tenure marked by dedicated leadership and service.

The academy thanked Brillantes for his contributions and expressed confidence that the Office of the Assistant Superintendent would continue carrying out its mandate under Agatep’s leadership.
