The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has partnered with the Laoag City government to strengthen support services for non-resident Filipinos and overseas Laoagueños through the localization of the BaLinkBayan Project.
Under the initiative, the CFO turned over an all-in-one computer set to the city government to help establish a dedicated platform for delivering services and information to migrants and their families.
According to the CFO, the localized BaLinkBayan platform seeks to speed up assistance, provide vital information for overseas Filipinos, and promote programs that protect the welfare of Laoagueños living and working abroad.
The turnover was held in partnership with Laoag City Mayor James Bryan Alcid, who joined the CFO in reaffirming their commitment to keeping overseas Filipinos connected to government services wherever they may be in the world.
The initiative forms part of the CFO’s continuing efforts to strengthen collaboration with local government units in providing more accessible and responsive services for overseas Filipinos and their families.
