The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Regional Office XII, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region XII, conducted a financial literacy and small business management training for 70 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and beneficiaries in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

The activity, held on July 7 at the DMW Regional Office XII, gathered participants from across the SOCCSKSARGEN region for a Financial Awareness Seminar and Small Business Management Training with Simple Business Plan Preparation.

The DMW said the training provided OFWs and their beneficiaries with practical lessons on budgeting, saving, responsible spending, debt management, basic investment principles, and simple business planning.

The program aims to help OFWs manage their earnings more effectively, prepare for possible livelihood ventures, and make sound financial decisions for themselves and their families.

According to the DMW, the activity is part of its continuing reintegration program, which supports returning and active OFWs by equipping them with financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills.

The agency also said these efforts are intended to help migrant workers build sustainable sources of income beyond overseas employment.

Through its partnership with DTI Region XII, the DMW said it remains committed to promoting financial resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and long-term economic stability among OFWs and their families in the SOCCSKSARGEN region.
