65 Manila Families Get New Homes Under In-City Housing Project

  • July 3, 2026

Sixty-five Manila families received new housing units from the city government under its In-City Vertical Housing Project, a program aimed at providing residents with safe, affordable, and decent homes without uprooting them from the city.

The turnover ceremony was held on July 1 at the Bulwagang Villegas in Manila City Hall.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso led the distribution, together with Vice Mayor Angela Lei “Chi” Atienza, City Health Officer Dr. Grace Padilla, and Manila Urban Settlements Office Officer-in-Charge Ernesto Oliveros.

In his message, Domagoso reminded the beneficiaries that receiving new homes also comes with the responsibility to keep their community clean, disciplined, and orderly.

“Kayo ay tumanggap ng isang malinis na bahay at pamayanan. Panatilihin ninyo itong malinis kasi hindi naman ako ang titira diyan, kayo rin. Ipagkusa na ang disiplina. Ipagmalasakit ninyo ang inyong sarili at inyong kapitbahay,” Domagoso said.

According to the city government, the In-City Vertical Housing Project forms part of Manila’s continuing efforts to provide families with decent shelter while improving their quality of life and protecting their dignity.

The city said the initiative seeks to give more Manila residents access to secure housing within the city, allowing families to remain close to their work, schools, and communities.
