PNP Hails Peaceful End To INC’s Three-Day Anti-Corruption Rally

Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended police personnel and members of the Iglesia ni Cristo after the religious group’s three-day anti-corruption rally ended peacefully on Thursday night.

Nartatez said the public assembly, held from June 30 to July 2, 2026, concluded without major disruption despite “minor incidents” recorded on its first day.

The opening day of the rally was marred by a confrontation that left seven policemen injured. Four suspects were arrested but were later released for further investigation.

The rally was held at the People Power Monument in Quezon City on Tuesday and Wednesday before participants moved to Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila on Thursday.

On Thursday night, the INC announced the conclusion of its anti-corruption protest, saying it had already conveyed its message to concerned officials.

“The Philippine National Police reports the generally peaceful conclusion of the three-day public assembly organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo, held from June 30 to July 2, 2026,” said Nartatez.

Nartatez said the PNP remained committed throughout the three-day event to maintaining peace and order while upholding the people’s right to peaceably assemble.

“The cooperation and discipline demonstrated by the organizers and participants, together with the professionalism of police personnel, augmentation forces, and partner agencies, contributed to the successful conclusion of the public assembly,” said Nartatez.

He also extended the PNP’s “sincere appreciation” to police personnel, augmentation forces, local government units, traffic management teams, emergency responders, and partner agencies for their “professionalism, vigilance, and dedication” during the security operation.

“We likewise thank the organizers, participants, motorists, commuters, and the general public for their cooperation, patience, and respect for public order,” added Nartatez.
