Three individuals were injured in an armed confrontation with police during a pursuit operation along the southbound lane of the NLEX Toll Plaza in Bocaue on June 26, 2026, the Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed.
According to initial reports, police units were conducting a hot pursuit after receiving information linking the suspects to recent robbery incidents in the area. When the suspects reportedly opened fire on responding officers, the police returned fire, leading to the injuries.
The wounded individuals were immediately transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Authorities have secured the area, and investigators, assisted by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), are processing the site and gathering evidence.
“The investigation is ongoing, and we ask the public to rely only on verified information and refrain from speculation,” the PNP said in a statement.
The police emphasized that the operation was conducted professionally and in line with established procedures and human rights standards. “We remain committed to pursuing those involved in criminal activities while ensuring that every operation is executed with professionalism and restraint,” the statement added.
Authorities are continuing their efforts to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in the incident.
