Police authorities in MIMAROPA arrested two suspected drug personalities and seized suspected shabu, a firearm, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Oriental Mindoro and Palawan.

In Oriental Mindoro, a pre-dawn search warrant operation in Roxas town led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 7.14 grams, with an estimated Standard Drug Price of ₱48,552.

Authorities also confiscated a homemade shotgun, a magazine, and two rounds of 12-gauge ammunition, along with other drug-related items.

The operation was carried out by the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team of Roxas Municipal Police Station, in coordination with provincial and regional intelligence units, the Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The search warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 43 in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro.

In Palawan, a separate buy-bust operation in Brooke’s Point led to the arrest of another suspect and the seizure of about 2.24 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱15,164.

Police also recovered buy-bust money, a digital weighing scale, drug paraphernalia, and a Toyota Vios allegedly used in the illegal activity.

Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being prepared.

PRO MIMAROPA Director Brig. Gen. Christopher Dela Cruz said the operations reflect sustained intelligence-driven efforts against illegal drugs and loose firearms in the region, adding that the campaign will continue alongside strengthened coordination with partner agencies.

Authorities also urged the public to report illegal drug activities as part of community-based crime prevention efforts.
