A No. 9 Municipal-Level Most Wanted Person for carnapping was arrested during a joint law enforcement operation in General Santos City on June 21, 2026.
The suspect was apprehended in Purok Camachile, Barangay Tambler, through the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT) Sarangani under the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 12, acting on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 38 of General Santos City, the Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) reported.
Court records showed the warrant, dated June 4, 2026, stemmed from a carnapping case under Criminal Case No. 510-00, with bail set at P60,000.
Authorities said the accused was informed of the nature and cause of his arrest and was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understood before being taken into custody.
He was later turned over to Police Station 5 of the General Santos City Police Office for proper documentation and detention pending court proceedings.
PNP-HPG Director PBGen. Rommel Batangan commended the operating units for what he described as sustained intelligence-driven efforts and strong coordination among law enforcement agencies in tracking wanted individuals involved in motor vehicle-related crimes.
He said the arrest underscores the agency’s continuing campaign to ensure accountability and strengthen public safety through the pursuit of fugitives facing criminal charges.
“The arrest of wanted persons remains a priority in our campaign against criminality,” Batangan said. “Through close coordination among law enforcement units and continuous intelligence-driven operations, we ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are brought before the courts and held accountable under the law.”
