Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla on Thursday said the government has not seen any International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants allegedly issued against Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and two former Philippine National Police (PNP) officials.
“We have not seen the warrants, we’re not aware of that,” Sec. Remulla said in an ambush interview at Camp Crame.
He also said there is no confirmation of the alleged warrants, adding that the claims remain unverified.
The DILG Chief, in the same interview, suggested that Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte may have been mistaken in mentioning the supposed ICC warrants.
Despite this, he said law enforcement agencies are prepared to act if a valid warrant is issued.
“We’re always prepared,” he said.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said he is also unaware of any such warrants.
He said the PNP remains ready to implement arrests once a valid court order is served.
“Yes, the Philippine National Police is ready. We have many tracker teams that can implement warrants of arrest,” Nartatez said.
