PLDT Home, power distributor Meralco, and solar solutions provider MSpectrum have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at developing smarter, more connected, and energy-efficient homes for Filipino families amid rising power costs and growing digital demand.
The collaboration, under the MVP Group, brings together telecommunications, electricity distribution, and renewable energy services to deliver integrated home solutions that support both digital connectivity and sustainable energy use.
MVP Group Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said the initiative reflects a broader effort to align the strengths of the group’s companies to generate practical benefits for consumers.
“One of the priorities that I have set across our organizations is to work together to create innovations that deliver greater value and meaningful impact for Filipinos,” Pangilinan said, noting that the partnership is intended to support both everyday needs and long-term sustainability goals.
The companies said the partnership comes at a time when households are facing higher electricity costs while relying more heavily on stable internet connectivity for work, education, and business.
PLDT Home Senior Vice President and Consumer Business Head John Palanca said the initiative expands the company’s role beyond connectivity.
“Our mission goes beyond providing reliable connectivity. We are helping shape the future of Filipino homes — one that is smarter, more connected, and more efficient,” Palanca said.
Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie Aperocho said the collaboration underscores the need for responsible and purpose-driven infrastructure development.
“Connectivity without purpose falls short. Power without responsibility loses its meaning,” Aperocho said, adding that the partnership aims to promote cleaner energy use and stronger communities.
Under the agreement, PLDT Home subscribers will have access to MSpectrum’s solar energy solutions, including system design, permitting assistance, installation, maintenance, and after-sales support. The offering also includes flexible payment options and customized systems based on household energy consumption and roof capacity.
MSpectrum’s packages include solar panels, inverters, and battery storage systems designed to help households reduce electricity costs while improving energy independence.
The partnership is expected to expand access to smart home technologies that integrate digital connectivity with renewable energy solutions, supporting the country’s broader shift toward sustainability.
