The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Philippine Veterans Bank are exploring opportunities to improve access to financing for Filipino entrepreneurs, recognizing that capital remains one of the most critical drivers of business growth.

DTI Secretary Cristina Roque recently met with Philippine Veterans Bank President Eulogio Catabran III and other bank officials to discuss initiatives that could help entrepreneurs secure the financial resources needed to start, sustain, and expand their businesses.

The discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between the government and the private sector in creating a more supportive environment for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Officials said expanding access to financing can empower Filipino businesses to pursue growth, drive innovation, and build long-term resilience, ultimately contributing to broader economic development and job creation.

The meeting underscores the DTI’s continuing efforts to forge partnerships that promote entrepreneurship and support the growth of MSMEs, which remain a vital pillar of the Philippine economy.
