House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III has extended his congratulations to Senator Sherwin Gatchalian following his election as Senate President, while calling for closer coordination between the two chambers of Congress to advance priority legislation.
He said Gatchalian’s assumption of the Senate leadership comes at a critical time, as both the House of Representatives and the Senate continue to address key national issues and fulfill their constitutional mandates.
“The House of Representatives congratulates Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on his formal election as Senate President,” the House Speaker said, adding that the development strengthens congressional efforts to respond to pressing public concerns.
He emphasized that sustained collaboration between the House and Senate is essential in pushing reforms that support economic growth, improve public services, and expand opportunities for Filipinos.
“The House remains committed to working with the Senate in advancing priority legislation, strengthening the economy, and delivering meaningful reforms that benefit our people,” the Speaker said.
He noted that past cooperation between both chambers has helped move forward major legislative initiatives, particularly in areas such as education, healthcare, social protection, and economic development.
He stressed that Congress must remain focused on measures that deliver direct benefits to the public, adding that stronger coordination will help accelerate the passage of key reforms.
