Over 800 Driver’s Licenses Suspended, Revoked by LTO in Enforcement Drive

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended and revoked more than 800 driver’s licenses as part of its intensified campaign to enforce traffic laws and promote road safety.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao said the stricter enforcement measures were implemented starting October last year as part of efforts to strengthen road discipline and reduce traffic-related incidents.

Since assuming office, Lacanilao said the agency has revoked 434 driver’s licenses and suspended 396 others.

“This is part of our duty to strictly enforce traffic laws, and it is one of the LTO’s concrete accomplishments,” he said.

Of the 434 revoked licenses, 325 were canceled for two years, 15 for four years, and 94 were permanently revoked.

On the suspension side, 23 licenses were suspended for one month, 290 for three months, seven for six months, one for seven months, and 75 for one year.

Lacanilao said the enforcement drive is intended to improve driver discipline, prevent road crashes, and ensure the safety of all road users, stressing that compliance with traffic regulations remains a key priority of the agency.
