Power has been restored in 24 of the 25 municipalities affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao, the Department of Energy said.
According to the DOE, the figure represents 96 percent of the affected municipalities, as restoration work continues in areas still experiencing electricity service interruptions.
The agency said crews are working to reconnect 39,423 consumer connections that remain without power following the strong quake.
Detailed field assessments are also ongoing to determine the full extent of damage to power facilities and identify the repairs needed to complete restoration efforts.
The DOE said it continues to coordinate with electric cooperatives, distribution utilities, and other energy sector stakeholders to ensure the safe and timely restoration of electricity services in affected communities.
Restoration teams remain on the ground to bring back power to the remaining affected consumers while damage assessment and repair operations continue.
