The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has facilitated approximately P3.4 billion in donations from overseas Filipinos through its flagship Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino (Linkapil) Program, funding community development projects, scholarships, infrastructure initiatives, and disaster response efforts across the country.
CFO Chairperson and Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II said the contributions reflect the continuing commitment of long-term and permanent Filipino migrants to support development efforts in their home country.
Speaking during a two-day media training in Tagaytay City, Ang said the Linkapil Program serves as a bridge between overseas Filipino donors and verified local partners, helping ensure that assistance reaches intended beneficiaries safely, transparently, and effectively.
The program channels donations to grassroots initiatives, including livelihood and startup support, small-scale infrastructure, educational assistance, and calamity relief operations for vulnerable communities.
The CFO said Linkapil supports the administration’s broader goal of making migration a matter of choice rather than necessity by helping strengthen communities and expand opportunities at the local level.
Through the program, the agency said the Filipino diaspora continues to play a vital role in national development, using voluntary civic contributions to improve lives and support communities across the Philippines.
