The Department of Energy (DOE) is exploring possible strategic collaborations with the Rockefeller Foundation aimed at advancing the Philippines’ energy security, sustainability, and climate resilience initiatives.

In a recent meeting, DOE Undersecretary Alessandro O. Sales met with executives from the Rockefeller Foundation to discuss potential areas of cooperation that could support the country’s energy transition goals. The discussions focused on aligning international expertise, philanthropic support, and public-private partnerships with the government’s long-term energy priorities.

Leading the Rockefeller Foundation delegation were Executive Vice President Elizabeth Yee and Asia Regional Head Deepali Khanna. During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in promoting clean energy development, enhancing energy access, and building climate-resilient energy systems across the country.

The DOE emphasized the importance of forging partnerships with global institutions as the Philippines continues to pursue a just and sustainable energy transition while ensuring stable and secure energy supply for Filipino consumers.

According to the Department of Energy, collaborations with organizations such as the Rockefeller Foundation can help accelerate innovation, mobilize investments, and support programs that address emerging energy and climate challenges.

The agency added that strengthening ties with international partners remains part of its broader strategy to achieve inclusive economic growth while advancing renewable energy and sustainability goals.

The DOE continues to work with local and international stakeholders in developing long-term solutions that balance economic development, environmental protection, and energy resilience in the Philippines.
