The death toll from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Sarangani on June 8 has risen to 68 after three more fatalities were reported in Davao, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Tuesday.
In its latest situation report, the NDRRMC said the three additional deaths brought the total number of fatalities in Davao to 11.
The number of deaths in South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City (Soccsksargen), the hardest-hit region, remained at 57.
The agency also reported that 33 people were still missing. Of the number, 17 were recorded in Soccsksargen while 16 others were reported in Davao.
The number of injured individuals stood at 1,339, including 1,259 in Soccsksargen, 79 in Davao, and one in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The NDRRMC said the earthquake has affected 337,541 families, or 1,382,294 individuals, across Soccsksargen, Davao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and BARMM.
