Around 200,000 public school students in Taguig will receive free school uniforms under the city government’s annual school package distribution program for School Year 2026–2027.
The distribution began on June 13 at Ususan Elementary School and Dr. Artemio Natividad Elementary School (DANES), led by Liga ng mga Barangay President and Councilors Marie Marcelino and Rodil “Tikboy” Marcelino.
Councilor Marie Marcelino said the city remains committed to helping learners continue their education and achieve their dreams by easing the financial burden on families.
Parents welcomed the initiative, with Dazel Flores, mother of a Grade 6 student at Ususan Elementary School, saying the free uniforms, school supplies, and education assistance significantly reduce their expenses.
The city government said distribution in other public schools will follow an organized process, including verification, encoding, and designated distribution stations. Additional schedules will be announced weekly until all learners have received their uniforms.
The program is part of Taguig’s continuing efforts to support education and ensure that every learner has the resources needed to succeed in school and in life.
