A total of 11 new 4G/LTE sites were activated in the province of Bohol as part of efforts to strengthen mobile connectivity in the province.
Smart Communications, Inc. said the new sites are located in the municipalities of Maribojoc and Antequera, where the network expansion is expected to improve communication services for Smart and TNT subscribers.
The company said the rollout supports the PLDT Group’s broader commitment to advance the government’s digitalization agenda and expand access to reliable connectivity across the country.
It said the additional sites are also expected to support local livelihood, tourism, education, and disaster resilience in the two Bohol towns.
“As a telco company, our mission is to connect every Filipino. We want places like Antequera and Maribojoc to be more visible, not only across Bohol, but to the rest of the country and the world,” Debbie Hu, first vice president and group head of Smart Wireless Network, said.
“We hope residents make the most of these new cell sites, and it is truly heartening to see the appreciation and support from the communities we serve,” she added.
Smart said it will continue investing in network infrastructure to help deliver reliable and high-quality services to customers nationwide.
