A suspected drug pusher sustained serious injuries after jumping from the second floor of a house during a buy-bust operation in Sampaloc, Manila, early Friday morning.
According to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Director PMGen. Anthony Aberin, joint operatives from the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized 525 grams of “suspected shabu worth around P3.57 million” during the raid.
The operation was carried out at around 3 a.m. along Maria Cristina Street in Barangay 455, targeting two high-value individuals, a 68-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman.
During the entrapment operation, both suspects jumped from the second floor in an attempt to flee. The male suspect, who authorities noted has a previous illegal drug case, suffered serious leg injuries and was rushed to a hospital under police guard. His female companion was immediately apprehended and is currently detained at the Manila Police District Drug Enforcement Unit custodial facility.
Police confiscated 10 heat-sealed sachets of the illegal drugs, which will undergo forensic examination.
Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared for inquest proceedings against the female suspect, while legal actions against the injured male suspect will proceed once he is cleared by doctors.
