Subscribers of Smart Communications Inc. can now settle postpaid bills and purchase prepaid load using Apple Pay, bringing a streamlined, high-security digital payment option to its retail channels.
The integration officially went live on Aug. 4 across all physical Smart Stores nationwide and the company’s online portal.
The newly introduced checkout feature covers Smart Prepaid, TNT, Smart Postpaid and Smart Infinity accounts, allowing users to process transactions via Apple’s native digital wallet.
With this integration, Smart stands as one of the earliest corporate adopters in the Philippines to roll out Apple Pay support following its domestic launch, expanding its digital payment
ecosystem to meet rising consumer preference for contact-free transactions.
“Smart has always been at the forefront of bringing world-class and life-changing innovations to Filipinos, and we’re proud to be among the first partners to welcome Apple Pay in the Philippines,” Smart First Vice President and Co-Officer-in-Charge Lloyd R. Manaloto said.
“As customer expectations continue to evolve, we’re committed to making every interaction with Smart simpler and more seamless. With Apple Pay, subscribers can now buy prepaid load and pay their postpaid bills with an easy, secure, and private payment experience,” he added.
Subscribers can utilize the payment method across both physical store locations and the telco’s official web store.
The service is supported on compatible Apple hardware, including the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro.
Subscribers with an eligible credit or debit card provisioned in their Apple Wallet app can complete transactions without taking out a physical card.
