The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it is fully prepared to ensure peace and order during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day or Undas.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said police personnel will be deployed across the country to prevent any untoward incident during the period.
“We will deploy police assistance desks, foot patrols, mobile teams, and emergency response units in and around cemeteries to ensure that help is always within reach of the public,” Nartatez said.
Nartatez said the PNP will maintain a “strong and visible police presence” in key areas so that families can focus on honoring their departed loved ones “with confidence and peace of mind.”
“Your PNP is fully prepared to provide round-the-clock security and rapid response throughout the Undas observance, with all concerned units placed on heightened readiness,” Nartatez also said.
Nartatez emphasized that Filipinos should feel safe during Undas, adding that the police force “will remain vigilant against any threat to public safety and order.”
Nartatez noted that the security measures to be implemented by the PNP are also aimed at addressing petty crimes like theft.
“As we honor the memory of our departed loved ones, let us also look after the safety of the living by remaining vigilant, following cemetery rules, and cooperating with authorities,” Nartatez said.
“The PNP will do its part to help ensure that every family can remember their loved ones in peace, dignity, and security,” Nartatez also said.
