PNP Arrests 13 in Muntinlupa Anti-Illegal Online Gaming Operation

The Philippine National Police (PNP), through the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), conducted a court-ordered operation on June 15, 2026, in Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City, resulting in the arrest of a provincial most wanted person and 12 other individuals allegedly involved in illegal online gaming activities.

Authorities said the operation was carried out pursuant to a warrant of arrest issued by a Quezon City court for violations of Republic Act No. 8484, in relation to Republic Act No. 10175.

During the service of the warrant, operatives allegedly observed ongoing online gaming activity inside the premises, prompting immediate police action in accordance with standard procedures and coordination protocols.

Recovered from the operation were various ICT equipment, including desktop computers, laptops, mobile phones, storage devices, and other digital peripherals believed to have been used in the alleged illegal activity. The items were properly inventoried and documented in the presence of required witnesses, including barangay officials and security personnel, to ensure transparency and compliance with due process.

Initial verification with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) indicated that the online platforms being accessed during the operation were not authorized, in line with existing regulations following the national prohibition on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations.

PNP Chief PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operatives for their swift and coordinated action, emphasizing the importance of lawful enforcement while observing due process.

“Patuloy po ang ating trabaho para masigurong ang batas ay naipatutupad nang maayos at walang sinasayang na pagkakataon para protektahan ang publiko,” he said.

He added that the PNP remains aligned with the national government’s direction under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen law enforcement efforts and ensure that illegal activities are addressed decisively and professionally.

Authorities said further investigation is ongoing to determine the full scope of the activity and possible additional violations.

The PNP reiterated its commitment to responsive and community-centered policing under its “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman” campaign.
