The Philippine Military Academy held an Olympic shooting demonstration for the Cadet Corps of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, as part of its continuing efforts to expand cadet sports development.
The activity was conducted under PMA’s ongoing collaboration with the Philippine Sports Commission and was organized with the Philippine National Shooting Association, the PSC, and foreign coach Mukhamedrakhmov Azizjon.
More than 450 cadets joined the demonstration, where they were introduced to the discipline, safety protocols, and techniques involved in Olympic shooting.
The session gave cadets a clearer appreciation of shooting as a competitive sport, separate from practical shooting used in military training. While marksmanship remains a core military skill, PMA said practicing shooting as a sport can help strengthen cadets’ interest, motivation, and commitment to mastery — qualities considered essential for future soldiers.
The demonstration also drew strong interest from cadets and opened possible opportunities for their future participation in the sport.
The activity follows PMA’s recent partnership with the PSC to introduce cadets to various sports disciplines that support their holistic development. Through programs like this, PMA continues to promote focus, discipline, and excellence among future military officers.
