The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation released more than P30 billion in benefit claims in January 2026, reflecting a significant increase in payouts to healthcare providers across the country.
Data from PhilHealth showed that a total of P30.74 billion was disbursed to accredited health facilities during the first month of the year.
The amount is 52.72 percent higher compared with the P20.13 billion released during the same period in 2025.
“Mas mataas nang 52.72 percent kumpara sa P20.13 billion noong nakaraang taon sa kaparehong panahon,” PhilHealth said.

In 2025, PhilHealth paid P11.37 billion in claims to private health facilities and P8.76 billion to government hospitals.
For January 2026, payouts to private healthcare facilities reached P18.09 billion, while public health facilities received P12.65 billion.
PhilHealth said the faster release of payments reflects its commitment to supporting healthcare institutions and ensuring uninterrupted medical services for its members.
“Fast PhilHealth payments means better care,” the agency said in a social media post.
PhilHealth serves as the country’s national health insurer, providing financial protection to Filipino citizens by helping cover the cost of healthcare services through reimbursements to hospitals and medical providers.
