The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency marked its 24th founding anniversary on July 2, 2026, renewing its commitment to intensify the government’s campaign against illegal drugs and strengthen efforts to build safer, drug-free communities.
The anniversary program, held at Tejeros Hall in Camp General Aguinaldo, Quezon City, carried the theme “Pinalakas na Kampanya Laban Sa Iligal Na Droga, Tungo Sa Ligtas na Bagong Pilipinas.”
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez led agency officials, personnel, and guests during the ceremony, with retired Police Lieutenant General Ricardo De Leon, Director General of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, as guest of honor and speaker.
“In 24 years of service, PDEA has consistently turned challenges into opportunities to strengthen its mandate. We have grown more resilient, more focused, and more committed to building safer and drug-free communities. We continue to lead this fight with integrity and purpose as we work toward a Bagong Pilipinas where every Filipino can live free from the threat of illegal drugs,” Nerez said.
During the program, PDEA recognized its best-performing offices, officers, and personnel for exemplary service and dedication beyond the call of duty.
The agency also honored local and international partners, allied government agencies, and private organizations for their continued support in advancing the national anti-drug campaign.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of an audio-visual report featuring the Director General’s Executive Report, which outlined PDEA’s major accomplishments and operational milestones for the year.
PDEA also formally launched its Manual on Anti-Illegal Drug Operation and Investigation, a document intended to strengthen and standardize operational and investigative procedures across all units.
“As we move forward, we remain guided by one mission and one resolve: to never waver in the fight against illegal drugs. We will continue to serve with integrity, act with urgency, and stand firm in defending the safety, dignity, and future of every Filipino. The work does not end here. It only strengthens our resolve for the years ahead,” Nerez said.
