A 63-year-old man was arrested after police seized an unlicensed .38-caliber revolver and live ammunition during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Valenzuela, Makati City.
Police identified the suspect only by the alias “Dean.”
Personnel of the Makati Police Olympia Sub-Station 1 and the SWAT/TMRU arrested the suspect during the operation conducted under Search Warrant No. 26-128, issued on June 29, 2026.
The search warrant was issued for an alleged violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Recovered from the suspect were a .38-caliber revolver without a serial number, loaded with three live rounds, and a shoebox.
Police said the operation was documented using body-worn cameras and an alternative recording device.
The inventory of the seized items was witnessed by Barangay Valenzuela officials.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights in Tagalog but opted to remain silent.
Police said inquest proceedings are being prepared before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
Makati police chief PCOL Pedro A. Alagano Jr. said the arrest demonstrates the police’s commitment to pursuing individuals who threaten peace and order.
