Batangas 2nd District Rep. Gerville Luistro is pushing for a deeper and separate investigation into a possible financial network, following claims by former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV that she said align with official Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) records.
Luistro, chair of the House Committee on Justice, said the panel’s review of documents presented during the April 22 hearing showed that several transactions cited in Trillanes’ annexes corresponded with AMLC data.
She raised the issue as impeachment-related proceedings resumed, describing it as a key development from the earlier hearing, where Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs), AMLC records, and Trillanes’ sworn statement were examined side by side.
Luistro said the names and transactions mentioned in Trillanes’ submissions warrant closer scrutiny beyond the committee’s initial review.
“Dito sa milyon-milyong payout, may mga pangalan na nabanggit—mga pangalang hindi basta-basta makakalimutan,” she said, citing references including Michael Yang and Sammy Uy.
“These are not ordinary names, lalo na dahil napakalaking pera ang pinag-uusapan,” she added.
She said the pattern emerging from the documents suggests a more structured system rather than isolated financial movements.
“May pahiwatig na may pattern, may sistema,” Luistro said.
Because of this, she stressed the need for a focused and comprehensive inquiry to determine the full scope of the alleged network.
“Kailangang tukuyin ang buong lawak ng network na ito—kung sino ang sangkot, paano gumalaw ang pera, at saan ito nagmula,” she said.
“Hindi ito puwedeng balewalain. This warrants a separate, focused, and full-scale investigation,” she added.
Luistro also said the April 22 hearing marked a turning point, noting that claims once dismissed as unverified are now being assessed alongside official records.
She cited what she described as full consistency between sampled transactions and AMLC data presented to the panel.
“Labing-walo sa labing-walo… 19 out of 19. Hindi ito tsamba. Hindi coincidence. Ito ay kumpirmasyon,” she said.
Luistro said the convergence of SALN disclosures, AMLC findings, and Trillanes’ statements now points in a single direction.
“Sa madaling salita: SALN, AMLC, at ang paliwanag ni Senator Trillanes—iisang direksyon ang tinuturo,” she said.
She added that the alignment of records has shifted the discussion from allegations to documented information that warrants deeper investigation.
