The Department of Energy (DOE), led by Director Patrick Aquino, conducted an Electric Vehicle (EV) Safety Seminar for personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Fire District IV and representatives from Marikina, Pasig, Taguig, San Juan, and Pateros.
Organized by the DOE’s Electric Vehicle Industry Management Division (EVIMD) in partnership with Nascent Technologies Corp., the seminar aimed to strengthen the knowledge and preparedness of firefighters and emergency responders in handling EV-related incidents and emergencies.
Participants gained a deeper understanding of EV technologies, battery systems, safety protocols, and the government’s policy framework supporting the growth of the electric vehicle industry. The activity also featured hands-on demonstrations of electric vehicles and EV charging stations, providing participants with practical exposure to EV operations and safety features.
Through initiatives like this, the DOE said it will continue to work closely with key stakeholders to promote safety, enhance emergency response capabilities, and support the safe and reliable adoption of electric vehicle technologies nationwide.
