The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said Wednesday it is preparing safety measures in airports that may be affected by Super Typhoon Inday.
“As part of established weather contingency protocols, CAAP-operated airports have been directed to secure communication equipment, navigational facilities, control towers, and other critical infrastructure against strong winds and heavy rainfall,” CAAP said.
The agency said the precautionary measures are in line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez.
CAAP said airport operations remain normal, but it continues to closely monitor weather developments to ensure that airports are ready should conditions require further action.
The authority also advised passengers to regularly check flight advisories and weather updates as precautionary measures are being implemented amid the threat of Super Typhoon Inday.
