Government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs) have remitted about P140 billion in dividends to the national government, with more funds expected to be turned over before the end of the year, Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Frederick Go said.
Go said 50 GOCCs have so far remitted dividends, with 15 agencies turning over more than P1 billion each.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) led the list with more than P62.39 billion in remittances, followed by the Land Bank of the Philippines with P25 billion and the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) with P9.69 billion.
Also among the biggest remitters were the Manila International Airport Authority with P7.59 million, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation with P5.67 billion, the Philippine Ports Authority with P5.33 billion, and the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation with P4.01 billion.
Other GOCCs that remitted at least P1 billion were the Bases Conversion and Development Authority with P2.60 billion, Clark Development Corporation with P2.59 billion, Philippine Guarantee Corporation with P1.86 billion, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office with P1.61 billion, Philippine Economic Zone Authority with P1.43 billion, Maharlika Investment Corporation with P1.37 billion, Philippine National Oil Company with P1.33 billion, and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines with P1.20 billion.
At least 20 GOCCs remitted between P100 million and P800 million, including the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority with P820.182 million, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System with P715.102 million, Clark International Airport Corporation with P585.709 million, Cebu Ports Authority with P452.420 million, and Phividec Industrial Authority with P443.518 million.
They were followed by the Philippine Retirement Authority with P399.972 million, Philippine Reclamation Authority with P376.872 million, Batangas Land Company, Inc. with P277.946 million, PNOC-Exploration Corporation with P194.784 million, and the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation with P143.490 million.
Other agencies in the same range included the National Development Company with P139.367 million, Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan with P138.118 million, Laguna Lake Development Authority with P137.198 million, Food Terminal, Inc. with P133.164 million, Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority with P129.956 million, Sugar Regulatory Administration with P125.970 million, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation with P114.321 million, LBP Insurance Brokerage, Inc. with P113.621 million, Social Housing Finance Corporation with P109.566 million, APO Production Unit, Inc. with P103.691 million, and the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority with P100.654 million.
GOCCs that remitted less than P100 million included the Small Business Corporation with P81.632 million, Leasing and Finance Corporation with P78.935 million, DBP Leasing Corporation with P49.652 million, Tourism Promotions Board with P40.178 million, and the National Housing Authority with P23.664 million.
Also listed were LBP Resources and Development Corporation with P23.599 million, Poro Point Management Corporation with P16.670 million, John Hay Management Corporation with P11.509 million, Partido Development Administration with P5.758 million, Kamayan Realty Corporation with P3.338 million, Credit Information Corporation with P2.159 million, Alabang-Sto. Tomas Development, Inc. with P1.935 million, and NDC-Philippine Infrastructure Corporation with P1.369 million.
The Philippine Rice Research Institute posted the smallest remittance among the GOCCs listed, turning over P111,000.
